Quotation: “Visually, instagram positions the body as a center of cultural production and self promotional logics of influence. Images are automatically equipped with fixed settings/ though photos can still be altered and edited/the sizing better suited to self portraits then landscape shots.”

Comment:This quote talks about how instagram is a place where people use their body as a center of cultural production and self promotion. What this means is that when it comes to posting on instagram, people’s bodies are the reason most people get influenced. It also means that when it comes to posting your body on social media many people will alter or edit their body so they won’t be criticized if something is “wrong” with them. Many people only like images of the person in the post that is popular or visually appealing, this is sort of why the body is placed as the center of production when it comes to posting on instagram. Instagram should be people posting whatever they want, buit because of the culture of instagram now and the production that comes, many people post either edited pictures of themselves to look better or they post something about following a trend. Many times it’s not an original post from someone, it can usually be a part of a trend. Instagram and people posting can relate to the blackfishing that they showed in this article because some people would post something about a trend or try to be like someone and end up being racially wrong by blackfishing. Overall I think that some easy instagram has turned into people just following the people that have more influence.

Question:Have you seen an example of black-fishing on the internet?
